Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities
- Educate prospects and customers on what is possible with TiDB Share best practices for integrating TiDB with various data sources and applications.
- Understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technology problems using TiDB.
- Guide the design and deployment of TiDB HTAP implementations that provide meaningful impact to multiple functional areas of a customer’s organization.
- Provide technical input on RFPs / customer technical requirements Organize and lead demos and proofs-of-concept (PoCs) to demonstrate various use cases for TiDB.
- Create technical content to show customers how to integrate TiDB or implement best practices for PingCAP technologies.
- Assist backend developers, database administrators, product managers and project owners with technical questions and escalations, as they arise.
- Work with developers, helping them with debugging their database integrations, and suggesting code optimization techniques and strategies.
- Document architectural solutions and recommendations for customers Distill and convey customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales.
Qualifications
- Two to five years experience as backend developer or database administrator, with strong communication skills.
- A strong understanding of the software development lifecycleWorking understanding of a coding and scripting language such as Python, Shell, or Golang.
- Experience with web-scale distributed systems, load balancing, and system monitoring.
- Familiarity with setup, configuration, and optimization of Nginx, LVS, Keepalived, Zabbix, MySQL, Redis, etc.
- Docker/Kubernetes knowledge is a strong plus.
- Experience in one or more public cloud environments, e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud PlatformExperience in DevOps automation using Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or SaltStack.
- A world-class communicator.
- Confident in dispensing knowledge to a highly skilled and experienced audience including developers, architects, and C-level executives
- Willingness to travel within the region (approximately 20-40%) as required by customer engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.
