We’re looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.
About the role:
The Senior Platform Engineer has substantial experience with hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms. You will have a strong background in cloud-based infrastructure, DevSecOps practices, software development, proficient in deploying Kubernetes and automating platform management. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure platforms that support our mission-critical applications. We’re looking for a candidate that is adept in developing platform APIs and is comfortable hosting containerized applications.
What we are looking for:
- 4+ years of deep experience with Kubernetes
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- 4+ years of experience with modern programming languages
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based platforms using modern technologies and best practices.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and scaling of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement platform requirements.
- Ensure the security and compliance of the platform by implementing robust security measures and conducting regular audits.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the platform to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the platform.
- Mastery in containerizing applications using Docker
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Actively participate in team demos
- Able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment with Raft
Highly preferred:
- In-depth experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or a related field
- Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong experience w/ containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Expertise in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Work Type:
- Remote (Local to San Antonio, TX preferred)
- May require up to 15% travel
Salary Range:
- $110,000 – $180,000
- The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate’s comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
