Acentra seeks an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor to join our growing team.

This position delivers a variety of services for eligible employees, supervisors/managers, and other leadership positions. This position is responsible for providing management consultation services to supervisors and managers, coordinating the provision of critical incident response services, and providing other direct EAP services such as triage services as needed.

Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing timely, comprehensive management consultations and clinical case management services for managers making referrals of troubled employees.
  • Providing triage interviews, crisis intervention, and follow-up services with distressed or acute callers.
  • Providing Critical incident response support and coordinating Critical incident services.

May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform daily duties, undertake and complete projects in area of expertise with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct intake clinical interviews to assess the counseling needs of new EAP clients by conducting an assessment including.
  • Providing immediate support and/or crisis intervention to stabilize a client in distress along
  • Providing referrals of callers to EAP counseling, Work-Life, and other available services.
  • Help clients identify personal, familial, or occupational problems that are affecting or may impact their functioning, work performance, quality of life and wellbeing.
  • Assess and enhance callers’ readiness for change using motivational counseling principles and techniques.
  • Conduct substance abuse assessments to determine appropriate levels of care and ensures timely referrals to medical, detoxification or treatment resources as needed.
  • Assess for child/ elder abuse or neglect and as appropriate and takes steps to ensure safety.
  • Engage in case consultations with peers and supervisors as needed or directed.
  • Administrative tasks such as closing cases or auditing cases.
  • Additional projects/tasks assigned by the Organizational Services Manager or Team Lead.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication, relationship building, and consultative skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem resolution and proactive communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • ·Analyzes and evaluates information; assimilates and understands incoming information and uses cognitive skills to determine direction independently.
  • Adapts to shifting priorities
  • Maintains calm facade, displays enthusiasm, and is positive even under pressure.
  • Efficient, detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work independently as a part of a team.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.

Requirements

Performance Standards:

  • Achieve a NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 70 or more .
  • Achieve a 95% of client satisfaction rating based on satisfaction surveys. (Sent monthly for organizational consultations)
  • ·Consistently demonstrate proactive problem solving, effective inter-personal communications
  • clinical professionalism, personal accountability, teamwork, and commitment to our values and standards.
  • Activities and times are documented accurately and appropriately. Activities are completed to standard.

Education and Licensing:

  • Master’s degree in a mental health field
  • Maintains active professional license(s)
  • Minimum 2 years master level work experience in mental health field
