You will report to the People Business Partner Leader, and will be responsible for making data-driven recommendations for innovative, scalable solutions, while also refining existing programs to enhance performance, retention, and the employee experience.

A day in the life of a People Business Partner at Calendly

As a People Partner will have a unique opportunity to develop and lead the execution of programs that support and benefit our people while working directly with Calendly’s People team. On a typical day, you will be working on: 

  • Mentor and develop managers to lead high-performing teams and foster the growth of our people.
  • Coordinate and implement people programs across diverse areas such as career development, career pathing frameworks, performance feedback, and partnering on learning and development initiatives for client groups.
  • Analyze business metrics (e.g., retention rates and employee experience) to identify trends and recommend systemic improvements.
  • Collaborate with leaders and employees to cultivate a culture of high performance and strong engagement, while proactively addressing any performance concerns to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to forecast headcount needs and work with recruiting to ensure the right talent is hired.
  • Drive and manage cross-functional projects, playing a key role in project teams, executing initiatives, and ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the planning and implementation phases.

What do we need from you?

  • 5+ years of broad and dynamic HR experience in a Technology/SaaS company, preferably in startup and larger company environments.
  • A desire to understand and learn business strategy, providing dynamic solutions using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide your decision-making.
  • Ability to work with senior leaders and all levels of an organization to tackle problems.
  • A self-starter mentality with a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-things-done attitude.
  • A deep understanding of “what great HR looks like” and how business cycles influence the people agenda.
  • Demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem solving.
  • Solid experience in employee relations, with the ability to successfully resolve escalated issues and concerns.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time.

The ranges listed below are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.

Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.

Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.

Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:

  • Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
  • Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
  • Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
