Manage a Team of Finance Associates for a fast-growing NYC-based custom apparel start-up

Fresh Prints is a New York-based custom printed apparel start-up. We find incredible students and give them the working capital, training, and support to build an apparel business at their school.

The Finance team handles all of the money coming in and out of Fresh Prints. You will be responsible for managing and improving systems that pay our suppliers, printers and Campus Managers. You will be responsible for making sure the Finance team generates all necessary daily and monthly reports to help drive the overall vision for Fresh Prints. Finally, the Finance Team is also directly customer facing in collecting all $30+ million a year in revenue. 

  • How do we motivate Finance Associates to respond to a higher volume of tickets at an even higher quality?
  • How do you most efficiently manage inbound and outbound payments so that they are handled as correctly, quickly and inexpensively as possible?
  • How can we reduce our costs and increase our profit margins overall?

As a member of the Finance Leadership team, you’ll be the driving force behind moving our Finance team forward. You will own an entire area and have a team of people to lead and motivate. You will set and track metrics by which your success will be measured. 

We’re looking for someone who has fantastic people management skills, is a quick learner, and isn’t afraid to take on challenges daily. You’ll be managing a talented team of 2 to 5 associates. You’ll be reporting to both Varun (Senior Finance Manager) and Josh (CEO). 

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Finance Associates
  • Managing communications with vendors & customers
  • Managing escalations from the team and solving logistical issues
  • Setting and tracking team metrics
  • Make sure all goals are reached
  • One on one meetings with your direct reports and with the CEO
  • Negotiating contracts with new and existing vendors

Essential Requirements

  • A total of 5 years of experience in finance or financial operations of which 2+ are in a team lead/people manager role
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Able to make decisions without direct supervision
  • Ability to negotiate positive outcomes
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills

Job Location

  • This role can be based in India or the Philippines
  • WFH based role

Working Hours

  • Working hours are 4:30 PM – 1:30 AM IST, Monday to Friday
