The Process Improvement and Quality Assurance Manager supports Directors, program managers, and their respective teams using agile methodologies to implement organizational processes and best practices. This role involves performing ongoing process evaluations to ensure compliance with FAR and DFARs regulations as well as project-established policies, processes, procedures, and applicable standards. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in implementing and training on frameworks such as ISO 9001:2015 and 27001:2022, CMMI-DEV/CMMI-SVC Level 3, and AS9100 with agile methodologies. This position evaluates software development and service performance and deliverables against process documentation, project schedules, and quality standards. 
The proposed salary range for this position is $85,000-$127,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assist Directors and program managers in implementing organizational processes and best practices. 
  • Provide technical solutions and support to a wide range of difficult problems, independently determining and developing approaches to solutions. 
  • Perform process evaluations to ensure compliance with FAR and DFARs regulations and project-established policies, processes, procedures, and applicable standards. 
  • Evaluate software development and service performance and deliverables against agile methodologies, process documentation, project schedules, and quality standards. 
  • Implement, coach, and train on ISO 20000-1, 27001:2022, AS9100/ISO 9001:2015, CMMI-DEV/CMMI-SVC Level 3 frameworks, utilizing agile best practices. 
  • Provide training for all employees on CMMI and ISO frameworks, as well as project management best practices. 
  • Serve as Lead Internal Auditor  
  • Schedule audits, develop checklists, write reports, facilitate root cause/lessons learned analysis, and make internal/external presentations. 
  • Analyze, compile, and report on findings of non-compliance and provide recommendations for improvement. 
  • Track and escalate unresolved non-compliance issues and corrective and preventative action plans to closure. 
  • Collect metrics, analyze, and report various measures to project managers, teams, and Corporate QA. 
  • Maintain the process assets library for the company, including all process definitions, templates, and document samples. 
  • Interface with external and internal customers to ensure project quality work products are provided. 
  • Support Corporate QA initiatives, such as CMMI Level 3 assessments and ISO re-certifications, and may participate as a SCAMPI Team Member during SCAMPI B/A maturity level assessments and ISO Internal Auditor 
  • Utilize hands-on experience as a project team member or real-life understanding of software development, support desk, and/or maintenance and operation-type projects. 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance 
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, Organizational Psychology, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field and 5-7 years of experience.  Minimum of 3 years of experience in process improvement, quality management, or a related field, with a focus on Agile environments. 
  • Substitution: High School Diploma and 10-12 years of experience, Associate’s Degree and 8-10 years of experience,Master’s Degree and at least 3-5 years of experience or Ph.D. and 0-2 years of experience is also acceptable 
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001, CMMI, and AS9100 standards, including maintaining certifications and leading internal audits.  
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives within Agile teams, fostering a culture of reflection, adaptation, and process optimization. 
  • Experience applying transformational leadership to create empowered self-organizing teams. 
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with excellent knowledge of all MS Office products  
  • Certified in ISO 9001, CMMI, and AS9100, (Lead Auditor level certifications are highly desirable) 

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Agile Certification (PMI-ACP, DASM, DAC, CSM, A-CSM, CSP-SM, CAF, CAL 1, or similar) 
  • Experience leveraging modern Quality Management software solutions is highly desirable.  
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
