About the role
The Senior Analyst, Record Custodian supports Oscar in ensuring adherence to industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate efficient retrieval of records and supporting documentation required to fulfill subpoena requirements.
You will report to the Manager, Regulatory Compliance.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $76,800 – $100,800 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $69,120 – $90,720 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill all subpoena, subrogation requests in a HIPAA / Privacy compliant manner
- Respond to inquiries regarding records
- Ensure that all team members are aware of the procedures to be followed to follow compliance requirements
- With guidance, partner with all relevant departments to make sure current compliance levels.
- Support compliance training and education for team members
- Support in developing reports, to the governing body.
- Delegate tasks to other departments to bring compliance levels up.
- Help conduct audits alongside external authorities.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year experience in health plan compliance
- 1+ years experience with State DOI health insurance rules and regulations, CMS ACA rules and requirements, CMS requirements
Bonus Points
- HIPAA & Privacy Regulations
- Legal standards related to medical records, including retention, confidentiality and access
- CHC, CCEC, or similar
- Experience in a startup and/or health tech environment
- Experience in a TPA setting

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
